We found the mall and the store. I was really conscientious about taking pictures up until I walked into the front door of the store. All the sudden I was in La La Land. This is a very nice store. My wife snagged the digital camera from my limp fingers and took custody of it for the rest of the evening. I think we were in the store for only an hour but it was quite an experience.

The store was wide open and spacious. There were demonstrations at each station with good-better-best setups. Everything is hooked up and if it doesn't work it's because something was trashed during the day and one of the black-shirts would come over immediately and get it working again.

When we arrived there were people testing and playing in almost every area. I tooled around looking for something that was not in use and that would catch my fancy. Mostly I was looking for equipment that I pretty much already owned.

The kids immediately found the iMacs and began exploring the games.

Jack and Laura thought this was pretty cool. Here we were in an environment likely to have absolutely no kid appeal and then they find the iMacs. This is almost like home! Perhaps better!.

Sure dad. We can hang out here for a while. I guess I can put up with that.

Then... I found the camcorders. Oh my goodness these are cool! I played with each one of them and explored iMovie and downloading and editing. This was great.

Nancy thought it was pretty funny to see me totally geek out in a store. This was a first for us.

The genius bar was very cool also. I met a guy who had come in asking questions about an Adaptec SCSI card and wanted to know about drivers for OS X. And me... I was wearing an Adaptec shirt! We got down and started talking about SCSI and HBAs and drivers and whatnot. (I'm not in the SCSI HBA end of the business but we had fun talking about it anyway).

Yes, that's an Adaptec Ultra 160 SCSI card. The right hand picture shows the RED phone. I wondered what it would take to get one of the guys to actually use it.

Laura and Jack were definitely sucked in. I think they really missed out by not going shopping while we were here. We'll just have to come back..

That's the end... for now
